Note – A gun vise such as the Tipton Ultra Gun Vise is recommended to hold the K1 during cleaning.

1)  Remove the shroud from the barrel by first fully removing the front 3mm Allen screw and loosening the back two 3mm Allen screws (if too tight remove stock and loosen barrel band)

2)  Fully close the power wheel to the lowest power setting and be sure the K1 is unloaded and on Safe

3)  Lay the cleaning rod beside the barrel and use a piece of tape to mark the length at the point where the rod intersects the magazine

4)  Carefully insert the cleaning rod with a cleaning patch and the oil of your choice on the cleaning patch 

a.  Use extra care and caution at the crown area of the muzzle when inserting the rod and removing the rod to avoid any nicks or scrapes

5)  Repeat the process of alternating oiled and dry patches until the patch comes back clean 

6)  Reinstall the shroud and reset the power wheel to your prior setting (usually 20-23 clicks in the .22 caliber and 30-35 clicks in the .25 caliber)
